Hello everyone!!
Welcome to the 2009-2010 Central Bucks High School East Marching Band! This is the first of our emails for the summer. As time gets closer to band camp, these should be coming to you on a weekly basis, to help keep you informed. We have a couple of things to bring to your attention: First, the first Band Parents meeting of the summer will take place on August 4 at 7:30 in the band room (Board meets at 6:30). We will be discussing needs for the group as a whole as well as answering questions that you may have about band camp. Please plan on attending. We will also have more dates available for volunteers at the snack bar.
During band camp the parents put out snacks that are provided by the various sections of the band each day. We need help mixing the drinks and serving the snacks as well as cleanup after. Please let me know if you can take some time away from work or if you are free one day. I will have more details available at the meeting. Most importantly, Percussionists (drummers, in my day) and guard members are having a mini camp NEXT WEEK. Time flies! The dates and times are July 27, 3 - 7 PM, and July 29, 8 AM to 2 PM. Please make every effort to have your child attend. These early camps are really needed to give these sections a jump on the fall season. Our next email will have a list of items needed by each student for band camp. I'll give you a hint: the first item is sunscreen!!
